About your instructor

Terri Chaplin built this course from lived experience

Terri didn't enter grief work as a career choice. Grief found her first. In 2005 she lost her first husband. Seven years later, she lost her only son in a car accident. More recently, her beloved sister. Each loss deepened her understanding of what it truly means to walk alongside someone in pain, and widened the gap she saw between the care people needed and what was available to them.

Out of that gap, she built Healing Hearts Community, a space for personal grief support, professional grief training, and a growing network of certified grief companions who are changing how the world responds to loss.

Do I need a LinkedIn profile to start?
No. The course begins at the very beginning, including setting up your profile from scratch. If you already have one, you'll build on what you have and make it much stronger.
How long does the course take to complete?
Most students work through it in 3 to 4 weeks at their own pace. Each lesson is self-contained, so you can move as quickly or as slowly as your schedule allows. There's no expiration date and you have lifetime access.
Is this only for grief coaches, or can other practitioners benefit?
It was built specifically for certified grief coaches and companions. If you're a death doula, hospice chaplain, or bereavement counselor who works closely with the grief community, you'll find most of it directly relevant.
